How does Ladies' Day Out Work?
To encourage shoppers to spend their money in Calumet, participating businesses each donate 1 item of $25 value or greater to a gift basket. This basket is given away in a drawing. Attendees are entered in the drawing by filling out a slip of paper with their name and phone number at each participating store they visit. This is a change from previous years! We hope that not having a punch card will make it simpler for your and our customers. Attendees then do not HAVE to visit a specific number of stores but would have better luck in the drawing with each additional business they visit.  We will collect all the cards at the end of the night or the next day. 

Main Street Calumet attracts shoppers to the event with print, radio and social media advertising.

Business Requirements

• Donate one item to a give gift basket that will be given away via drawing. This item should be clearly marked with your business information! 
• Create a special or promotion to build excitement around your store (must be submitted with your registration)
• Pay the registration fee ($75 for non-members, $65 for members of Main Street - use discount code "MEMBER")
• Initial/stamp/punch cards with a unique business identifier or your choosing when customers present their Ladies' Day Out Card from 10am-8pm the night of the event. 
• Plug  your business and the event on Social Media!!

Business Benefits

• Get the opportunity to invite lots of customers into your store on the night of the event and invite them back again soon (think about creating a coupon to entice customers to come back - ex. 10% off for those returning within 2 weeks). 
• Receive a beautiful Christmas wreath for your door (door hanger included) created by Calumet floral.
• Your business will be listed on event materials (flyer, radio advertising and social media promotions). 

What does Main Street do to create and promote this event?

• Creates and distributes a poster for the event
• Purchases radio advertising for the event that will list all participating businesses
• Creates a flyer that will list all businesses and their specials
• Creates a punchcard, this is what customers use for the gift basket drawing. ​
• Coordinates with the Village on Christmas Decorations for the downtown.
• Distributes holiday wreaths from Calumet Floral. 

Important Dates

• Deadline for registration  is November 3rd, description of special or promotion is due with registration.
• Poster will be distributed by October 28th
• Basket items will be picked up on November 15th (or at special date you arrange)
• Radio Ads will begin October 23rd with a "save the date" style ad.
• Entry slips and a collection box will be distributed to stores one week prior to the event.
• Wreaths and door hangers will be distributed on or before the night of the event.
