What is the Calumet Township Recreation Park?
Calumet Township is working to develop a four-season outdoor recreation area across from the Mine Street Station Shopping Center. The area will be for people of all ages, physical abilities and skill levels, while providing accessible recreational opportunities to provide users an area to exercise, play and socially interact.
Where is it?
Located at the corner of Mine Street and 6th Street Extension in Calumet. The site is composed of approximately 4 acres and is bordered by private property. Additional acreage may be added to the site through partnership agreements.
The fitness and playground equipment shown has already been purchased. This equipment will be installed in the area indicated on concept map above.
Develop this township owned property into a multi-use recreation area that also serves to connect community assets including trails, our commercial district, our downtown(s), and National Historical Park resources.
Specifically, development of the recreation area will also include;
Phase 1 : $60,000
Purchase and installation of playground equipment and parking lot off Mine Street.
