What is the Calumet Township Recreation Park?Calumet Township is working to develop a four-season outdoor recreation area across from the Mine Street Station Shopping Center. The area will be for people of all ages, physical abilities and skill levels, while providing accessible recreational opportunities to provide users an area to exercise, play and socially interact.

Where is it?Located at the corner of Mine Street and 6th Street Extension in Calumet. The site is composed of approximately 4 acres and is bordered by private property. Additional acreage may be added to the site through partnership agreements.

Develop this township owned property into a multi-use recreation area that also serves to connect community assets including trails, our commercial district, our downtown(s), and National Historical Park resources. Specifically, development of the recreation area will also include;

Cost/FundingPhase 1 : $60,000
Purchase and installation of playground equipment and parking lot off Mine Street. Thank you Portage Health Foundation for awarding Calumet Township with a grant for $20,000 to assist with the first phase of construction of this project!
