MainStreetCalumet proudly presents "PastyFest2007", Friday, June 29 and Saturday June 30. Join us for a fun-filled family and friends weekend, kicking-off with "Da Yoopers", with special opening act, Miss Houghton County Queen, Kiersten Birondo, at the Historic Calumet Theatre, Friday, June 29 at 7PM. Tickets on sale now at the Theatre. We will also be crowning the PastyFest2007 King and Queen! Come partake of the royal festivities!
Join us on Saturday at 8AM in Agassiz Park for the PastyWalk. Have breakfast at one of our fine restaurants, before watching the PastyParade down Fifth Street at 10AM. Festivities continue throughout the day in the Park. Music by Crawfish Mojakka and others to be announced. Food for the pasty- and non-pasty-lover (shock!)!! Root beer floats by the CLK Rotary! Special deals to be had at our area businesses. A special appearance by Toivo, the Walking, Talking Pasty!!!
Once again, the Pasty Bakeoff will pit pasty against pasty, in a battle for the coveted "Copper Pasty". All of your favorite games will be returning, including the dreaded "PastyPull", the "Rutabaga Shotput", the "Onion Pass", the "Egg Toss", potato sack races and more. Prizes for the kids! Enter your original PastyPoetry for a chance to be named this year's PastyLauret.
MainStreetCalumet welcomes the Copper Country Firefighters, with events throughout the day, and the Dress Parade down Fifth Street at 7PM, followed by the Firefighters' Ball at the Calumet Colleseum. Tickets $2 at the door, open to the public.
